What about Telenor? The city person has contacted them. I have been negotiated with them about the date of the internet installation. It was reportedly claimed after my suicide that one of the Telenor’s men said they did not find any date that they would come to my house, Lillesandsveien 34 on the 8th of November. For me, some questions appeared in my head again: how could they say such a word? Did they remember the letter they sent to me? Did they remember the communication that I was made with them via 05000 and 09000 on the 7th and 8th of November? The numbers, dates and times are still remained in my phone. Perhaps I misunderstood the language? No, I asked them to speak in English, and they spoke English and Norwegian. If Telenor wants to prove the case honestly and ethically, the company can check the data in their machine (if they don’t act unethically and irresponsibility to delete it intentionally). It seems the company transfers the fault to a person of color, short and dark skin like me as a person who can not understand their language (my opinion). I can have some other alternatives to avoid this conflict, for example, choosing other companies’ services, but I will not do it. As a loyal customer, I need to help the company to act ethically and take responsibility for their act. Customers, suppliers, focalfirm and other parties involved in the business could be compared to one big family. If one member of the family goes crazy and act unethically, I need to inform them. If they intend not to hear my voice, I need to do sth to awake them. If they continue to ignore my message, I need a strong solidarity to push them to go in the right way because the money that the company earn and fit in their pocket for their luxury lives is the money from our hard working lives and the debt we owe to the bank. Why members in the same family do not provide good care for the rest of the family? So my point is growing bigger than just having the internet at home. It was a crazy act to kill myself just only for getting the internet, but it is more than that-it is about human value, human dignity and so on. Before getting thing changed in my country, the third world country, I need to challenge with the capitalists and the claimed democratic society like this country. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi says “small thing can make a big change”. Revolutions in the Arab and Islam world first began in Tunisia after a young undergraduate and self-employed street vendor burning himself in front of the Tunisian government building inDecember 2010 (CNN, 2011). Hundred thousands of young Tunisian people who were assumed to be people in collectivism society in Hofstede’s cultural index (2001) came out in the streets, the day after, to protest against the Tunisian government. Similarly, situations in neighboring countries such as Egypt, Yemen, Libya and Syria of which cultures are assumed to be high power distance began to revolutionize the countries by using power of the people to overthrow the dictators from power. The poor stood up against the kleptocrats even though they had to put their lives at risk of being encountered by armed police and military under the order of the tyranny governments. The spirit of fighting for equality and justice has not only spread among Arab and Islamic nations, but it also moved to the self-claimed democratic world such as the United States and other countries where capitalists have been accused of taking advantage of the middle classes and the poor. The Occupy Wall Street’s demonstration started with a few hundred people in New York City in the Wall Streetfinancial district on September 17, 2011 and has spread to 70 major cities and 600 communities in the US and to 900 cities with thousands of demonstrators attending worldwide (Wikipedia, 2011). It is notably observed that revolution and unrest across the globe politically and economically start from a place where unfair treatment and unequal distribution of resources among members in the society occur. Protesters of the Occupy Wall Street have been acting against “social and inequality, corporate greed, corruption, and influence over government by financial service sector and lobbyists,” (Wikipedia, 2011), by which the demonstrators claimed there is a huge difference in wealth between them, the 99 % of the population, and the 1 % capitalists (Wikipedia, 2011). In general, high unemployment, inflation, corruption, lack of freedom of speech and political freedoms, poor living conditions and a huge gap between the riches and the poor have become the most visible roots of revolutions and unrest throughout the world in this century regardless of cultures, religions or races. To me, if Telenor does not apology in the public about their carelessness or poor service to a customer with color background like me, I will start Occupy Telenor in Kristiansand when I come back from Thailand or perhaps in summer 2012. I will use my times to communicate with young Norwegian people who felt upset about Telenor via social media and I will change the image of The Free Press Magazine online (www.fpmonline.net) from an online newspaper for Cambodians to a social media for all (everyone can log on, write, and publish their opinion regardless of the level of education or professionalism). Now I have already had firmly support from my 5 children and wife and some friends who feel sorry for me to start the demonstration at any time and date I suggest. Thanks God, Jesus, that makes some surrounding people support me. I like the act of a crazy film maker and journalist, Michael Moor, who started demonstration against the capitalists in the US alone. John Stuart Mill says even though one person has an opinion that is different from other members in a group or society, this minority’s opinion could be more worthy than that of the majority that everyone should not ignore. I love this. Lord Buddha says there will be no happiness in one’s heart and mind as well as in  one’s place or society if one does not provide the happiness to others. Martin Lurther King succefully challenged for civil rights and equal rights between the black and the white in the US during 1880s. Lord Jesus started acting against discrimination since he came to the earth. The Max-Min theory of John Raws, John Stuart Mill’s utilitarianism, Ethical principles of business, MNCs’ roles and their corporate social responsibilities and principles of integrity of DeGeorge (1993), rights and duties for MNCs of Donaldson (1989), free markets and utility principles by Adam Smith, Falkenberg’s theory of flourishing life are remained in my memory. I will test them practically AS what was stated by former US President JFK, “change needs action.”

Do I have the right to do it? Will it devalue Khmer culture and Khmer value for using my right as a Khmer refugee to challenge injustice and unethical act of a company and fight for justice and against discrimination in a place where I have been survived? Or do I have to ignore and accept it in the name of Khmer and a person who has been survived by Norway? Is my act becoming a sense of creating conflict and not paying full gratitude back to Norway? Will Khmers or refugees/immigrants from different backgrounds have to accept inequality, injustice and considered themselves as second class people like what Mr. Klaeng Moeung Khmerak Khan wrote in Khmer?

Micheal, it is absolutely a second class citizen. They have brought many refugees to resettle in their country and use them as modern slaves. The refugees will wotk for their whole lives with no happiness and joy. They will become the product of the government or the domestic needs. This is a modern slavery era.

I agree with Michael. Since I know Lem, he is a kind of polite person. He has never harmed people. He was born to help people. He has fought for freedom, value of human beings, rihgts and equal opportunity that every citizen should receive regardless of race or culture. Lem is now in the hospital where he was survived. I felt sorry for him. A doctor who asked not to be named told me that Lem was almost died. He took over 100 tablets in the evening of Wednesday. If the police and doctors did not help him on time, he would pass away from all of us. He is now under intensive care by the doctors and nurses. Please kindly pray for him and give him hope.
